Some people think that being creative is all about talent, but my belief is that everyone is creative in some many ways. Your creativity can come out in the way you dress, cook, talk, sing or relate to people. But being creative is all about learning to experiment and have fun.

Kids are naturaly inquisitive and love to experiment - with almost everything they do - so when do we learn to fear being creative? The fear of creating has to be learned. In fact most of us learn it by watching how adults deal act around creating as well as what we are told when we attempt new things. If the adults are upset whenthey mess up - kids learn to be too.

It’s really important to teach kids how to respond to surprising results as well a disapointing ones. Show them how to laugh at mistakes and try a new project. Be the example and shrug off the imperfect projects with a smile. This interaction gives you the opportunity to teach them new ways of looking at the world.

Ironically it’s usually them who end up teaching us to see the world  anew.
